Final project
when I was challenged to create something using 3 machines in the Innovation center I had thought about making a foosball table. so I started to sketch some ideas for the design. then I started to work in inventor to make the players to 3D print.
after finding the right size for the player I started to give them more detail. By adding some extra extrusions and making the hole so they can be put on a rod.
I ran into a problem where the player fit onto the rods but where to tall so I had to mark each player to cut and sand them so they did not touch the bade board. so after marking each player at 3/4 inch from the bottom I cut them to size. Then I sanded them to make the bottom smooth. after that I started to design and print the end caps and handles for the rods to keep them from falling off. Then I used the woods shop to cut all of the rest of my wood to size and use the table saw and mightier saw. After all of the pieces where cut to size i clamped them together and used the nail gun to hold the entire board together and then just have to put the players and grips on.
during the production of my project I have learned many valuable things. I would say that time management would be the biggest thing because during the making of the project I had felt like I had enough time to complete but during the last 2 weeks of class the amount of time i had left set in and I started to rush. Another thing I would have liked to do better was planning my project more because the trial and error was taking a lot of time. If I had more time to work on my final project I would have stained the wood or painted it.
